Hermann C. Luitingh has practiced law in Canada and internationally for over 13 years and is a member of three law societies. He has experience in complex business trials, structured settlements and commercial transactions. He has overseen many custody and divorce proceedings and drafted multiple different family agreements including cohabitation agreements, marriage agreements, and separation agreements. His estate practice includes pro-active planning for death and medical incapacity. He has assisted boards of directors, officers and trustees for various corporations, non-governmental organizations and trusts on compliance and management. He has lectured on various legal topics; including litigation, estate planning, tribunal justice and business law. He served as provincial chair for the Administrative Law section of the Canadian Bar Association, and served as a member of the Canadian Bar Association Law Reform Committee for British Columbia. Hermann is well-equipped to navigate clients through a wide variety of statutory regulations and the common law. With his lengthy experience not only as solicitor/attorney but also as trial lawyer, he is equally comfortable assisting clients with strategic planning as he is with conducting remedial action and court applications. He has experience in public administration and served on various public policy committees. He has an ongoing international client base assisting with cross-border transactions, drafting and registering products and services for import into Canada. Hermann has experience in drafting and registering security agreements and various kinds of mortgages in order to protect the property and interests of his clients. Hermann has extensive experience in immigration law including dealing with visa offices on foreign soil and dealing with the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, as well as the Canada Border Services Agency Hearings and Appeals Unit. Hermann is an accredited Notary Public with the Governor General of B.C. for assistance with authentication of documents for official international use.
